I decided to try writing as I listen to a song. Like, writing what I think as I listen to the song. I did two, but I’m sure I could do more sometime. ^__^ I thought I’d share the two I made though.

What I think listening to: Up Ship! by Port Blue 

I’m on a sidewalk at night, cars passing by, red and yellow and white lights blurred. The white snow tainted with the dirt from underneath people’s shoes. It’s freezing cold. I’m walking, trying to keep my nose under my scarf so I stay warm. I’m wearing a long button up jacket, and my gloved hands are stuffed in the pockets. My grey knit hat presses the hair over my ears, insulating the warmth of my head. I curl my toes in my boots that offer no warmth to them- they feel icy cold. I close my eyes and think about my day. Suddenly, I open them with a new fire in my eyes, as if hope suddenly washed over me, and I strut with confidence and a little haste down the sidewalk in the cold night.

What I think listening to: Juneau by Port Blue

I’m sitting on a cloud, breathing into my hands to warm them as the chill of the sky wraps around me. The clouds above me start to darken, and snowflakes drift down onto my face, getting caught in my eyelashes when I look up to stare at them fall. The flakes melt all of a sudden, and turn to rain, and I close my eyes, the rain heating the once cold air. I find myself drifting down, the cloud travelling to my home, and I walk into my home, where I see a fire, and sit right in front of it, hoping to warm my toes. Listening to my family talking, making me smile, but not wishing to join them. No, not now. I close my eyes and recall the moment it snowed and rained in the few seconds I sat up on the cloud. I wonder if I could return. If I could find my way back on top of that cloud that so nicely escorted me back home. If I could see the snowflakes fall all around me, if I could watch it melt into rain and gently pelt my skin, if I could feel like I had just then. Could I go back? Maybe. I hope so.
